This course introduces many of the concepts, techniques and strategies which are imperative to understanding software testing.
It challenges the conventional way of thinking and includes a number of topics not usually found in any other course namely The Functional Mapping Technique.
The trainee is introduced to all phases of testing including planning, design and execution. The result is a well rounded tester, having a good theoretical knowledge and being able to apply his skills.
By means of theoretical tests everyday the trainee can monitor his own progress and the trainee’s sponsor/manager is forwarded a progress report at the end of the course. A large portion of day three is dedicated to a development project simulation in which the trainee acts the part of the tester. The trainee is required to apply the material covered in the course by uncovering a number of embedded ‘faults’ and ‘problems’ in the simulation specifications and system. He/she is required to produce all documentation including tests and defects as part of the simulation. The presenters are all ISEB certified lecturers, with many years experienced in the field of testing and quality assurance. This allows them to share their own experiences and present practical solutions.
Course Duration: 3 Days
Target Audience: This course is valuable for quality assurance and testing staff, business analysts, programmers, and system users with testing responsibility and project managers. A suggested option is to add this course as part of an orientation process for all new staff joining the IT department as an awareness of an often unknown area.
